[D] After totally attending the briefing and everything, Renakir headed back to his quarters. The Romulan-Reman officer was dressed in his uniform with his fluffy hair partially obscuring his forehead. He wore his dark sunglasses as always with a black that matched his fingernails. Despite the very green lips and green blush that covered his face at all times, Renakir actually rarely wore make up. Who was he, his brother? He couldn't imagine going into a battle with a anything more than some moisturiser or sun screen. As he stepped into the rather cramped room, his mind was buzzing with a million thoughts. How was Kali-fal Madeleine doing? Were they really going to get back 'in three days'? Did he really have necessary skills for this? The mention of a cloaking device made him nervous; there were so many things wrong with travelling under cloak. They could transport, but it would be a small window? In his mind, he would be the one doing the transporting, after all that was his job. "H'rau'Mol'Rihan, Ik'honnsu," He muttered to himself, too soft for the UT to pick up. Renakir clearly had his head in the metaphorical power conduits because he just walked over to a walk and stood there. Head still down, like some kid who got put in time-out and was told to 'face the wall'. This kid just had too many things on his mind.

“Hello.” She said. Her voice was soft, but it was usually like that.

Renakir did not expect anyone to speak to him. In fact he didn't even realised anyone was in rthe room with him. The lights were too bright, the temperature way too warm, even the carpeted floors felt too noisy when his feet shuffled against them. That's why when the sound of a stranger's voice reached his ears he nearly jumped out of his skin as he was forcefully pulled from his thoughts. When he turned to face the person his face was covered with a hard scowl, a 'who the hell do you think you are?' sort of expression. Upon realising where he was and who he was talking to, his expresison immediately softened and he ran a hand through his hair, pulling his fringe back and looking away from the person. "Sorry," He spoke with a strained voice, his breathing still quick and hurried like he had just ran a kilometre. "Jolan tru, hi," He waved his other hand that wasn't gripping his hair nonchalantly. "I don't think we've met," The utterance was delivered more like a factual statement and not as a question, as if he were to say ''space is cold' or something like that. Renakir stepped away from the wall so he could face the other. He stood tall, although actually below average for his species. Just six foot five, but his shoulders were broad and his skin was grey with a greenish tint.

“We have spoken before. You brought me my dog and suggested I go to Surak Snacks. I did go there, by the way, it was pretty good.” She replied. She decided not to raise an eyebrow at the senior officer, though she was considering it.

Lt. JG. Renakir Torre'vnau | OPS BOT 24-Sep-22 01:56 AM
"... The dog!" Renakir snapped his fingers and nodded. His memory was clearly suffering with all the anxiety and paranoia that felt like it was possessing his entire being. There wasn't a single thing he didn't feel anxious about. The way the air smelled, the humming of the turbolifts, even the sound the doors made was unsettling. Renakir showed his discomfort by crossing his arms over his chest and keeping his gaze down. Not that Lorin could see his eyes to begin with at all. "Did you see my dad there? Tiravurik?" Renakir inquired, his voice was a little friendlier now that he realised his roommate was not a complete stranger. Once it was available he had looked over the team list only to find all his friends were on the other team. Literally everyone was on team one. This mission would not only be a test of his abilities as a transport officer (that was why he was here, right?), but also his ability to get along with people he barely knew. Not uncommon, but this mission had much higher stakes then just a simple turbolift fix or replicator malfunction.

“I did. He was kind and helpful. I think I’d like to go to Surak Snacks again when we return. A victory celebration of sorts.” She said. If she came home, that meant she won. Because losing this meant death.

'When we return', hearing those words made Renakir frown and shake his head. Silence filled the room as the Romulan-Reman officer was attempting to form a coherent response to the other's words. 'Return', he assumed they were all going to get back in one piece, but memories of past away missions made him doubtful they would all return unharmed. This was not a normal away mission, they were not going to make first contact or help out some distressed aliens with their plumbing system. It was infiltration of a secure base. Avoid casualties, work cleanly and undetected. "I look forward to that. And I am glad you liked meeting Tiravurik. He used to cut my hair when I was young," Yes let the bald Reman be your barber. Well, Renakir was a fussy child and he needed his mother to hold him whilst Tiravurik chop chopped otherwise he would have surely tried to run away or get his ear chopped off. "What do you think about this whole mission? I mean, there's quite a lot of us lower deckers, we're not exactly seasoned officers," He wasn't questioning the team's ability, no, everyone on the roster was the right choice for the job. What he was worried about was everyone being able to work together in such a high stakes mission. For many, this was their first away mission of this nature, at least it was for Renakir.

Ensign Lorin Redwood | SCI BOT 24-Sep-22 02:13 AM
“This is my first real away mission, so I don’t know what to make of it really. I won’t let anybody down.” She said. She had already let so many people down before. She had gotten a few angry messages from husbands and wives and parents and children of the people who died on Thealin III a few weeks ago, accusing her of leaving them for dead. As if she didn’t already hate herself for it. She wouldn’t let anyone else die, not today.

"Don't know what to make of it?" The question came out more as accusatory than just a simple inquiry. Indeed, Renakir couldn't imagine not having an opinion about the whole mission. They were literally going to be going into the jaws of evil, the bunker of despair, the lair of terror. How could she not have an opnion past 'I won't let anybody down'?. Renakir furrowed his brows and took a slow breath through his nose. "I mean, we may not make it out alive," He spoke with a dark tone, the life looked like it was sucked from his entire being. "Don't you feel scared? Anxious? And how do you know you won't let anybody down? I mean, that's what I thought during the Iconian war, and--" And just when he said that he inhaled sharply as the memories flooded his mind once again. Not necessarily specific events, but the emotions. He swore he could hear banging from the other side of the door, the humming of the turbolifts. Renakir turned his head left and right as if looking for some unseen enemy there in the room with them. This was ridiculous, he couldn't afford to lose his mind before they even started the mission. "Sorry, Lorin. Just... Are you sure there's nothing you want to talk about?"
Avatar
Ensign Lorin Redwood | SCI BOT 24-Sep-22 02:42 AM
She sighed. Is it really worth reliving everything again on this nice evening? Her tone was shorter, exasperated. “I’m terrified. We’re going into the heart of darkness, of course I feel something about this! But I can’t do anything about that! What I can do is do everything in my power to make sure nobody dies- because I don’t think I could live with myself if anyone else died because of me. I’ve seen people die in some horrible ways, and I hate it. I see it over and over again and nothing makes it stop. So if I live after this mission, then yay, I did something important and useful for once in my life. Not like I can control the outcome.” A few tears formed at the corner of her eye, and she turned away.

Renakir paused for a moment and just stared at Lorin as his mind tried to process what was going on. He definitely said something bad because what he got in response was a whole lot of things he would need some time to unpack. Lorin was no stranger to death, he got that much. With a heavy sigh he pushed his sunglasses up on his nose, anime boy style, and then lifted his head to look at Lorin. "Listen," He began, his voice was surprisingly calm despite the craziness he just heard. As his mind was trying to fit words into sentences, his body was perfectly still. Staying calm under pressure, another skill he could thank his Romulan upbringing for. "I'm just as scared as you, about all this. I guess I just felt like I was the crazy one here freaking out about this mission. I didn't mean to sound accusatory," Poor communication skills, thank you Romulan education system. "From Vulcanoid to Vulcanoid, it's alright to cry and feel stressed because of this. Maybe we should just go get some rest," As much as Renakir wanted to comfort Lorin, the two of them were not that close. He tugged at the bottm of his shirt to straighten it out and looked away from her as he spoke again. "I'm.. Sorry for upsetting you."

Ensign Lorin Redwood | SCI BOT 24-Sep-22 03:12 AM
“It’s alright. I should probably at least try to sleep. No need to risk being exhausted tomorrow.” She said. Her voice was shaky. It sounded like she was desperately trying not to cry. That would be absolutely mortifying for her, so she turned away once again, shoulders slumped a bit. She never had extremely good posture to begin with, it got worse when she was older.

"That would be a good idea," He responded, although there was still a feeling of guilt lingering in his chest. Maybe he wasn't as good at socialising as he thought he was or maybe it was just his paranoia making him stumble over his words. He turned on his heels and headed towards his private bedroom area. Despite having 4 people assigned to each quarters, at least they all had private sleeping areas. Renakir did not exactly do well when put with a roommate. He remembered the awkwardness in France with his poor roommate, a human lad who was convinced Renakir was going to kill him in his sleep. Anyway, before he disappeared into his bedroom, he turned to Lorin, "I know this is gonna sound strange coming from a Romulan, but maybe doing some meditation may be helpful. We're both Vulcanoids, I know how strong emotions can get and it's important we can control them. Logic will be our friend on this mission," His tone was warmer than before as he gave his advice. Meditation, emotional control, he thought back to all the advice he got from his previous roommate and his wonderful Daelhen Eshen on the topic.

“Yes, I believe it will. I will see you in the morning.” She said. She walked into her room and shut the door. She was going to have to pick what she wanted- the flimsy connections she could make with humans when she was just doing her own thing, or actually being a halfway competent Vulcan for the next three days. She focused on stopping herself from crying. She fell asleep after a while, feeling somewhat better now that she wasn’t as emotional.

After he got into his private quarters, Renakir sat on his bed and grabbed his PADD. Communications blackout, right? So he couldn't message anyone, although it wasn't like he had many people he could message anyway. He pulled up the note padd application and grabbed a little stylus and began practicing his calligraphy. It was Renakir so obviously he was here writing in... Havrannsu. He was not the best at Havrannsu calligraphy, but if it was anything like Chinese he could do it. Since he couldn't do Zhal Makh in such a small room he had to settle for just drawing swirls and patterns on his PADD. It was alright, maybe he'd get good enough to write his family an actual letter in the swirly text. He could ask his brother to check it over too, Rai was ironically better at the Reman language than Renakir, the actual Reman was.

Lorin woke up, not as tired as when she went to sleep. She pulled on her excursion uniform and made her way out of her room. She went over to the replicator and got herself a glass of water. “This’ll all turn out fine.” She whispered to herself.

Renakir poked his head out of his quarters once he heard shuffling from outside. He looked around the common area and saw a single Orion. How interesting, he thought. The Romulan-Reman officer took a deep breath and stepped back into the hot room, at least it was hot to him. He much preferred the sub-zero temperatures of his quarters, he also preferred his own bed-- well pillow fort he called a bed. Since this was only a temporary living assignment it was illogical to rearrange the furniture so Renakir would just have to deal. He still wore his sunglasses as always, in fact he looked exactly the same as he did before he disappeared into his quarters earlier.

Now that was quite a ride, Renakir thought as he sat in the common area of his quarters. It felt like a dream, especially the last part after he got the smoothie. All he remembered was getting a smoothie and then he was back on Eventide. How strange! He had invited Hanna over so they could do some chatting, he also wanted to arrange a pet playdate for Lewis and Kali-fal Madeleine too. There were a number of things about the events that had transpired that weighed on his mind, one significant thing he kept thinking about was... His courage. Renakir got to lead a small team to the weapons repair lab, stole a disruptor. But more importantly somehow he survived being called a 'gangly bitch' without feeling ashamed afterwards. If anything he looked back on the memory with fondness, that whole debacle was so funny even if it was scary at the time. And so Renakir sat on the sofa, disruptor in his arms as he was looking forward to taking it back with him as a trophy (disabled of course).

Renakir sprang up from the sofa and opened the door to see-- Hanna! He waved at the friendly tactical officer and gestured for her to come inside and sit on the sofa. "Jolan tru," He greeted with a wide grin, showing all his sharp teeth as always. Hanna was cool and for some reason he had an oddly newfound confidence. Like, if he could laugh about some buff section 31 agent calling him a gangly bitch there was nothing that could stop him. "How are you? Want a smoothie?"

Lt. Cdr. Hanna Stone | TAC BOT 27-Sep-22 12:27 AM
She smiled as she entered the room, pausing slightly before addressing them both, "Hello Lieutenant, Ensign." Her eyes looking back at Renakir, "I would enjoy one, thank you. Preferably a berry one."

Lt. JG. Renakir Torre'vnau | OPS BOT 27-Sep-22 12:31 AM
"Berry? Alright," Renakir headed over to the replicator and made them some smoothies. If Lorin wanted a smoothie too he'd replicate one for her. Berry for Hanna and-- Renakir had a craving for strawberry so he made himself a strawberry smoothie. After the drinks were replicated he walked back to the little seating area and handed Hanna her drink. "Look at what I swiped from a guard," Renakir grabbed his disruptor and held it up, a very proud and heroic look on his face, despite the fact it took five whole ass Starfleet officers to wrestle it away from a single guard. "He called me a gangly bitch but I made him catch these gangly hands," Definitely not how it happened, but Renakir had never felt this confident before. Not even during the personality virus.

"Yeah totally. Jack swiped some stuff too, but it was mostly inconsequential stuff. I mean, if it was gonna get destroyed why not?" Renakir shrugged and put the replicator off to the side of the sofa and grabbed his drink. Strawberry, one of his favourite terran flavours. "You didn't take anything? I wanna hear your stories of heroism!" (edited)

She shook her head as she settled into the chair, "I didn't take anything... nor did I do anything heroic. That all falls on the ensigns and lieutenants of the teams I was on as they did the most work and I simply supported." Taking a sip as she looked at them, "What about you? You seem to be brimming with stories?'

Renakir slowly sipped his smoothie enjoying the cool drink. That was something he never thought of, smoothies were cold and actually a great way to cool down especially after running around a base for what felt like days. The Romulan-Reman officer set his drink down and sat back on the sofa. "I'm sure you did cool things! But I... Wouldn't say I did anything super heroic aside from wrestle that bastard for the disruptor," Renakir chuckled as he spoke, reaching up to adjust his sunglasses (he was wearing his extra non-cracked pair!). "We chatted with a guy in a bathroom. Looks like we barged in right as he was washing his hands. At least he didn't have his trousers down."

Renakir laughed again when he thought back to their conversation with Paul. Oh he really hoped they crossed paths again. "I mean, it was..." Renakir clicked his teeth and tilted his head slightly as he tried to think of how to phrase his next sentence. "It was more 5 Starfleet officers against 1 guard. Jamie accidentally fired at Jack, stunning him, so it became 3 on 1. For a moment I really thought what would do us in wasn't being disruptor'd but by friendly fire," He had a laugh at that, feeling free to express himself, especially in front of Hanna. "How were the agents on your end? Cooperative? You had... Elwyn and Lorin on your team, right?"

"That's good to hear," Renakir also just remembered Lorin was in the room with them and turned his head only to see the ensign was in fact not there. His expression changed to that of concern for a split second before he grabbed his smoothie and sipped it through his lil metal straw. "Jack bit a couple people on my team, the dude looked like some vampire after it all," Renakir remembered the moment fondly. It seemed despite the seriousness of their mission, there was definitely a silver lining to it all. "Did you chat with any of the agents? I told you about Paul in the restroom, but maybe there were others that were calm too?"

Lt. Cdr. Hanna Stone | TAC BOT 27-Sep-22 01:34 AM
She blinked before frowning, "Did he get his shots afterwards?" Lt. JG. Renakir Torre'vnau | OPS BOT 27-Sep-22 01:43 AM
Renakir laughed out loud yet again at the comment. It seemed Jack's rabid nature was well known throughout the crew and it was iconic to say the least. "Don't worry, the good doctor Elias checked him over afterwards. I think he'll have some explaining to do to Dagis about why he shouted 'I have rabies' at the guards," Renakir sipped his smoothie again, very fruity and very cold, his favourite. "You got to talk with some scientists? What was that like? I assume they weren't hostile or else you would have stunned them."
Avatar
Lt. Cdr. Hanna Stone | TAC BOT 27-Sep-22 01:45 AM
She nodded her head slowly as she listened about the ensign that provided her with an early headache, "I suppose he would have to have a good explanation for that. I don't think I can specify what was talked about until I get clearance from my commanding officers about what was discussed with the scientists, unfortunately."

"He said it was just a taunt, but thankfully everyone made it out in one piece. Elias and I got disruptors, Bright got-- whatever he collected," Renakir would also have to meet back up with Elias and ask if they ended up keeping the disruptor. Technically they were not allowed in Federation space, but disabled it was fine. "And I understand, I remember the debriefing was pretty vague," And their whole mission was top secret so it's not like they could really talk about the details with others on base. "I heard you guys had a smoothie machine too, kinda weird thing to be in a big bad section 31 base."

"Well my moral was certainly boosted," He said before happily sipping his smoothie. The metal straw was also a great idea, he didn't have to worry about flimsy paper or plastic getting ruined. He got the feeling that Hanna was not too impressed hearing Renakir and his fellow Lower Deckers swiped stuff from the base. Well, maybe not Bright's antics, but certainly Renakir and Elias' "So about that pet playdate, once we get back to the station and you get Lewis back from Marcus we gotta meet up. "Really? I mean-- I'm happy to hear that. When I lived in France I kinda... Bad with animals. He was awkward and overly paranoid so even if animals did approach him there was no way he'd extend a hand back. "Kali-fal is really calm and friendly, I am sure she'll love Lewis. It was never Saren or even 'my friend', always 'dinam', brother, because they were brothers of the soul even if they weren't by blood. "How big is Lewis by the way? Kali-fal is hmm," Renakir put his cup down and held out his hands to try and demonstrate how big his pet epohh was. "Maybe the size of a terran bull dog? A little bigger I think."

"I thought the walls are already soundproof?" The walls were actually pretty good on the base! The soundproofing wasn't perfect, but surely Lewis couldn't be that loud, Renakir thought. "But if you need some extra soundproofing I could get a request sent through OPS on your behalf," OPS requests usually didn't take too long, but naturally Renakir could get it sent through faster, just for Hanna. "Lewis really hates water that much? Kali-fall loves baths, although I heard from the scientist on Mol'Rihan she rolled in mud a lot as a baby."

"Sings the song of his people? I can relate to that," Renakir laughed out loud, it was actually quite freeing to just.. Be himself. It felt different from the personality virus though. With the virus, he had virtually lost all his shyness and self doubt, but those things were still with him. The difference was he conscious chose to ignore them and he realised all the people he hung out with weren't going to judge him. Well, not for his awkwardness or his race, if anything it was because he said ridiculous things sometimes, which he could live with. "I mean, when I was younger my brother would give me baths and I'd bite his hands, that sounds terrible, I swear I'm not a dog," He shook his head. "Well then it's a good thing you have your own quarters, at least I think you do ever since the Eventide crew moved to the base, right?"

She nodded her head after chuckling at his childhood story, her gaze wandering over him before commenting, "I do. It's a little weird being somewhat demoted from my position, but I also think it's probably for the best. I wasn't really qualified to lead a department or anything like that." She gently ran a hand over her arm in a self soothing way, "I only hope that my actions were positive ones or will be seen as such after the events of our mission. I feel like I might have annoyed Lieutenant Dagis... and I already am not well liked by most of the high ranking officials."

Renakir listened as Hanna explained the situation with the Eventide. He remembered an announcement about the quarters being moved and his poor fellow OPS officers racing around to try and prepare it all. OPS was such an overlooked job, moving quarters was no easy feat! The Romulan-Reman man looked at the nice officer with a sympathetic smile. "I think you're qualified! I mean, you're a tactical officer and you can fight," As if that the only requirement for the job, but Hanna was competent and seemed to be dedicated to her position. "You definitely made an impact and I don't think Lieutenant Dagis is annoyed. Well, if it makes you feel better I think she was too preoccupied with making sure Jack didn't lose all his teeth from the biting," He chuckled softly as he readjusted his sunglasses. Hanna's next comment made him raise an eyebrow in curiosity. "Not well like by most of the high ranking officials? What do you mean?" Renakir honestly didn't know much of the senior staff although he did know the Eventide XO had recently requested transfer.

Her eyes dipped to her cup as she let him in at a moment of insecurity in comparison to her more composed nature, "Every time I've been on the bridge I've managed to offend at least one officer. I'm not even sure that the captain would want me on the bridge if the CTO was not able to do so. I haven't had a long chat with her for a while as she and I have been fairly busy."

Renakir's expression darkened when the Commander's body language turned solemn as she spoke. His concerned look was complete with the furrow of his brows and slight frown. Hanna may not have been able to see his eyes with his sunglasses, but she certainly could read his expression from the rest of his face. "I'm sorry to hear that," He spoke softly and sighed. "I have never met the Captain, but she seems like a caring person. And by offend do you mean Styre?" Renakir remembered Hanna had mentioned not getting along with Styre and indeed that was why he thought that Styre had requested a transfer. "I think you and him just had personality incompatibility, I don't think it says anything about you as a person."

She frowned as she looked at him before back at her cup, "I think it does. Everyone around me wanted to take trophies and trinkets from the latest mission... but all I could think about was the fact that they were taking trophies and trinkets as prizes won because we beat the bad guys. We are supposed to be this idealistic society that frees those who are in bondage and protect others from things that can harm them... but we see something that we can brag about later and we take it?"

Ah, that was it, Renakir's expression changed to that of discomfort and he looked away from the Commander only for his eyes to fall back on the disruptor. He understood where she was coming from and honestly he felt like a kid being reprimanded by his parents. The confidence quickly faded from his posture as he slumped his shoulders and put his hands on his knees. "I'm sorry, Hanna," Was his first respond, forcing himself to turn and look at her as he said the words. She couldn't see his eyes, but he could see hers and he felt awful about it. "I am... I guess I viewed it as less triumph over bad guys and more I want to remember our teamwork," He was attempting to explain his logic. "I guess that doesn't sound very convincing when I'm the Romulan with the disruptor," His face changed to a bitter smile, stumbling over the last phrase 'Romulan with the disruptor'. "I can see how I might have gotten a little carried away. Jack too, I guess it was all just heat of the moment, I'm sorry for making you uncomfortable, Commander."

She shook her head quickly before looking at him, a weak smile forced onto her face, "No. Clearly everyone was under the same impression as you, including the Lieutenant. Perhaps I shouldn't have voiced my opinion so strongly or attempted to prevent others from taking it. It wasn't my place to and I'm not their commanding officer so they don't have to answer to me."

Renakir's senses were now trained on Hanna and trying to decipher her body language. Like day to night, he switched from confident Reman to concerned and hesitant Romulan. Even the Lieutenant, the words rang in his ears as he remembered when Dagis gave them all the okay to pretty much ransack the place. They had all taken trivial items, even the disruptors were not exactly sentimental to anyone. "Logically, the base was to be blown up so anything we didn't take was to be destroyed. And.. I can't speak for the others, but for Romulans and Remans, taking souvenirs from our battles is seen as honourable," In fact Romulans took disruptors from their enemies all the time. The Torre'vnau family had their own family disruptor even! "But you're right, we're Starfleet regardless of where we come from. I think we're all still trying to come down from the high of the mission," And what a high it was, but this little talk with the Commander had quickly brought him down to... Mol'Rihan? The metaphor didn't exactly work in space.

She shook her head again as she set her cup down, "No. None of you did anything wrong. I don't think you or anyone else did anything that would be seen as dishonourable in the eyes of Starfleet. I think I just have to adapt my own way of thinking and just accept it." Moving to get up as she gave him a smile, "Thank you for the smoothie, I hope that you are still willing to have Lewis and Kali-fall meet up for a playdate."

Renakir was really kicking himself for what he said earlier. Brandishing the disruptor with pride, laughing about how Jack looted the place, and also implicating Elias as well in disruptor theft. The Romulan-Reman officer stood up when Hanna did and bowed his head. "Thank you for coming by and chatting. I still would like to have that playdate, let me know when you're free and I can get us a holodeck, maybe make them their own little park," Another perk of being OPS is Renakir was quite skilled with holodecks. Not exactly the same as turbolifts, but he knew his way around the circuit boards. "Jolan tru, Hanna, and stay well," He gave her the Romulan goodbye along with a phrase in standard.

Renakir was in the room still, lounging on the sofa drinking his smoothie when the doors flung opened and in entered- "Jamie?" The Romulan-Reman officer stood up and looked at the Trill, completely baffled why she was just waltzing into his quarters. Did they have some shuffling or something? He didn't remember any announcement.

"Eh? Oh wait-" It struck her she had entered the wrong room, as her face froze in embarrassment. "Wrong room! S-so sorry for disturbing you-"

Renakir sighed and just shook his head, he couldn't help but smile that this random turn of events. "It's alright, do you wanna stay a bit and chat? I can get you a smoothie," He offered, clearly team two was the smoothie team. His voice was calm and inviting, a little less cold and distant than usual too. Despite his rather uneasy end to his conversation with Hanna, he was trying not to let it get to him.

"What flavour?" Renakir headed over to the replicator and began to set it up for a smoothie. "We have all sorts of flavours, I forgot what you got on the mission-- wait you got a smoothie, right?" Renakir raised an eyebrow, not remembering Jamie enjoying smoothies with them. Understandable though, it was a stressful time.

"Coming right up," Renakir responded, mimicking a shopkeeper. He input the specifications into the replicator and soon the smoothie popped out! He brought the cool drink over to the Trill and then plopped down on the sofa again. "How are you doing? I wanted to tell you that after in incident in the weapons repair lab, Jack, Elias, and I went to the upper level together and Elias was able to revive Jack," He told Jamie, wanting to reassure her that Jack didn't suffer any longterm effects from her friendly fire from earlier.

"That's a relief." She had been worried about that for a long time, frustrated at such a stupid mistake that could have killed someone. She moved to sit down, taking a sip of her cup. "So... how have you been getting on?"

Renakir looked at the Trill curiously and then grabbed his empty smoothie cup so he could go recycle it. A small gap of silence followed as Renakir got up and placed the cup in the replicator. He was pondering what to say next, how to bring this up. "Do you think it was... Wrong for us to take things?" The Romulan-Reman officer turned to Jamie, his tone was light but there was a hint of something deeper hidden between the lines. (edited)

"Well I mean like--- morally wrong. Not like the value of things but..." Renakir took a deep breath, wondering how to phrase the Commander's words correctly. He looked away from Jamie, his eyes turning back to the replicator. His body language was completely differeny from how it had been in the base. He wasn't confident on bold, there was no showmanship here. He looked vulnerable, almost scared. "Because you know, we're Starfleet. I... Spoke with Commander Stone. She mentioned taking trophies or souvenirs, bragging about 'beating the baddies' wasn't very Starfleet," He turned his head to look at Jamie again, wondering how the ensign would react.

Hmm.. “If we were a pure military force then I’d say bragging is less odd, but we aren’t like the KDF or the RRN.” she looked on at the Reman-Romulan, noticing his demeanor.

"Yeah, and that's the dilemma I'm facing," Renakir shook his head and gestured ambiguously in the air, like he was chasing some sort of bug flying around his head. He ws just confused and now questioning his own ethics. "Like... I know the stuff was going to get destroyed anyway, but.. Ehh.. Commander Stone seemed... Like what we did was antithetical to our whole Starfleet philosophy," Renakir paused after he spoke and ruffled his hair with his fingers. "Come to think of it I think a lot of very non-Starfleet things happened down in that base. What did you make of it all? Like how we all acted?"

“It was a bit… non-serious, but we got the job down.” she had been silent during most of the event, so she wasn’t acting very wild, but she found it amusing (definitely not because her roleplayer was busy with the romulan)

"Yeah that's what I thought," Renakir said as he sat back on the sofa and grabbed his PADD that had been sitting next to his disruptor. As expected there didn't seem to be any news, not until he noticed the clock. "Oh Jamie, there's a party happening soon. Maybe you should get to your quarters to get ready, I gotta do something before I leave," He was not planning on going to the party himself, but he did want to bring his dinam the smoothie he had promised in the chatroom.
